Eddie and Tonya's tips for students:
Eddie says, "Always be frugal. Recycle your lead scraps, try not to use too much metal or glass. Be creative and produce your own designs rather than use existing ones and always try new things to keep learning, worship your teacher!" Tonya adds, "Always reuse as much material as you can. Save bits of solder to use again. Save all scrap glass for mosaics and suncatchers. Try as many new things as you can and be unique". |

| Our learning center is where we tap the creative talents of our
many instructors and students. In the coming months, they will
share their favorite tips and tricks, offer suggestions for improving
techniques, or perhaps just share a favorite
project. |

Jeff's tip for new students working in stained glass:
"Safety First. Try not to bleed too much, but seriously, always use precautions. I use gloves and a mask when working with toxic chemicals and when soldering I always use a small fan or fume trap as well as making sure to wash my hands with soap that draws out any dangerous metals or chemicals from my hands. Make sure you're safe, but always have fun!" |
